Financial Accounting Treatment of Non-Qualified Deferred Compensation Plans

Under generally accepted accounting principles (“GAAP”), the assets and liabilities associated with a Non-Qualified Deferred Compensation arrangement are accounted for and reported independently. This memorandum discusses the general accounting treatment for both.
