Jacqueline Ward Joins Newport Group as Chief Human Resources Officer

Walnut Creek, CA—November 1, 2016— Newport Group, a leading provider of retirement plans, insurance, and consulting services, announced today that Jacqueline Ward will be joining the company as Chief Human Resources Officer, a newly created position reporting to CEO Greg Tschider.
 
In this role, she will be responsible for Newport Group’s overall human resources program, with a focus on developing and executing talent management and employee relations strategies that embody the firm’s culture, mission and values. Under Ms. Ward’s leadership, the firm’s existing HR team will continue to develop and implement further initiatives to enhance the employee experience and maintain an open flow of communication across the organization.

Ms. Ward has nearly 20 years of global HR management experience, most recently as Vice President of People Experience at the software firm Xero. Prior to Xero, she held senior leadership positions in human resources with firms such as Digg, PlanetOut, MarkMonitor, and ThinkHR. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of London. She also holds a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification.
