Orlando Sentinel Spotlights Newport

For the sixth consecutive year, the Orlando Sentinel has recognized The Newport Group as one of the most family-friendly companies in Central Florida. An independent panel of local human resources experts ranked the firm No. 7 in the Sentinel's annual list of the "Top 100 Companies for Working Families"—our highest ranking ever.

Companies are surveyed to determine what benefits they provide to employees in a number of key areas, including core benefits, family-related benefits, work environment, communication, and training. The Sentinel publishes its list of top firms in both its print and online versions, and further recognizes the winners at its annual luncheon. Once again, Newport finished ahead of some of the region's largest and best-known employers.

"We are excited to be recognized by the Sentinel for the sixth year in a row for our comprehensive associate benefits package, and to make the top 10 for the first time," says Holly Adams, Director, Human Resources. "As our growth in our number of associates continues to rise, we remain committed to expanding our employee programs and providing the best benefit plans available."

Holly notes that the expansion of our associate wellness initiative helped our ranking climb from No. 14 a year ago. Newport provides a wide variety of education, health and wellness plans, and helps associates earn and maintain relevant industry designations and licenses. Newport’s ranking was in the category of firms with less than 250 employees in the Orlando area.
