A PRUDENT INVESTMENT PROCESS
Our comprehensive suite of investment services provides active oversight and management through every phase of the investment process, including creating an investment policy statement, constructing an investment menu, monitoring and replacing funds, and reporting results.

OPEN ARCHITECTURE
Because Newport has no proprietary investment managers, our NQDC plans are not subject to any pre-determined proprietary fund requirements. Sponsors are afforded the broadest possible choice in determining which asset managers to offer across all asset classes and have the ability to replace and add managers as needed.

MANAGER SELECTION PROCESS
Newport’s professional guidance and oversight of the plan’s investments help control risk by establishing clear criteria for evaluating and selecting fund managers. Our process focuses on the quantitative and qualitative measures that suggest consistency of risk and return characteristics versus peers and benchmarks. We apply our forward-looking modeling discipline to position assets along an optimal risk-return spectrum. For each asset class, we select style-consistent managers who have demonstrated superior risk-adjusted returns.

RISK-BASED MODEL PORTFOLIOS 
Plan participants have the option of constructing their own asset allocation strategies, or utilizing Newport’s industry-leading model portfolios. Using the managers included in the plan’s investment menu, these pre-constructed allocation strategies span the risk spectrum from conservative to aggressive and include exposure to all major investment styles. Our model portfolios are custom-designed for every plan we consult on or administer by Newport’s dedicated investment consulting staff.

QUARTERLY INVESTMENT MANAGER REVIEW ^SM  
At the end of each quarter, Newport issues its highly regarded Quarterly Investment Manager Review. Providing our clients with both a high-level market perspective and detailed customized analysis of their investment performance, the Review includes reports on the managers in the plan, performance data, and informed commentary.
